He took so long as we watched by your bedside
Hours turned to days, time passed.
We watched your life and your strength fade away
And then you breathed your last

So Jesus came, but by then it was too late,
You were already dead
I went to him and I fell on my knees
If only you'd been here, I said,

Oh, if only you'd been here, if you'd not been so slow,
if you'd been by his side.
And if you'd been near, and said the word I know,
my brother would surely not have died.

He told me, "just like the sun he'll rise again - there's not a sparrow falls
Outside my Father's gaze."
I know at the end of time he'll live once more
when all the dead who've gone are raised.

Then he said to me, “I'm the resurrection and the life,
And all who believe will never die.”

I believe that you're the Christ, the Son of God himself,
the one who was to come

When we arrived at the tomb, Jesus wept

“Lazarus, Lazarus, Lazarus, come forth”

Just a scent on the air like myrrh

All of a sudden you stirred

And then you stepped into the sun as i heard Jesus say
“Unbind him, set him free
And death is undone, as night succumbs to day
Believe in me and you will see God’s glory
And now, I know he is the resurrection and the life
