Yesterday, she felt the baby move
Like a butterfly, deep inside
A life within her own
And she knows the words the angel spoke are true
And although it seems that all her dreams
like butterflies have flown
Still she knows the deepest peace she has ever known.
For this child is precious cargo.
Though all that the world will see is the shame.
A life changed by a miracle won't ever be the same.
Oh this child her precious cargo
He is the twinkle in God's eye.
And that peace will keep her through the storm
As the days go by.
And now she knows the looks will soon begin
As she starts to show, the waves will grow,
but what will be will be.
And although the days to come are dark and dim,
With a mother's love, she'll rise above
the wild and stormy sea.
And she knows the deepest love there can ever be.
For this child is precious cargo....
For all she knows she’ll face the task alone
Like a boat that’s lost who knows what cost
The saying yes will bring?
Though the journey leads to shores as yet unknown
She must leave the warm, and face the storm
But still her spirit sings
For she knows the child she bears is the King of Kings

The streets were dark in Bethlehem, when the man and woman came.
The hour was late, the only room they found
was the room below where the cattle slept, all lit by torches' flame
and he laid their cloaks down on the dusty ground.
And there, a baby boy was born, In a borrowed cattle stall
His mother wrapped him up and laid him there
Upon the straw in the feeding trough He looked so very small
Whilst the world slept on uncaring, unaware.
No trumpets rang in the nighttime air
No happy crowds in the square
Not a sound in the empty streets, forlorn
None on earth to greet his coming
None to hear the choirs sing
On the night the King of Kings was born.
And so a babe was born to the world And he drew his breathe to cry
No trumpets rang to tell of a royal birth
Just a mother’s love as she held him tight As the stars shone in the sky
And silence rang all across the darkened earth.
No trumpets rang in the nighttime air
Yet far across the quiet hills Came the news to tell his birth
And shepherds quaking heard the angels sing
Glory be to God on high and peace upon the earth
To night in Bethlehem is born the King.
The trumpets rang on the hillside there,
and angels thronged in the air.
Glory shone even brighter than the dawn.
Angels sang to greet his coming
Can you hear the choirs sing
On the night the King of Kings was born.

On a frozen hillside outside of Bethlehem,
Shepherds watch their sheep beneath the sky
Sitting by the fireside, all rough and ready men,
That's how they earn their keep, as all of Bethl'hem sleeps nearby.
Oo As the world just slips on by
Shepherds by the fire, they live from day to day.
Working nights to earn their daily bread.
They long for their Messiah, just like the Scriptures say.
They watch the fire burn and in their hearts they yearn
For a day when people say, God is with us.
For a night of hope and light on Earth
For a change some news so strange and wonderful
How they pray to see the Saviour's birth.
Then the stars are falling, falling from the sky
And the hill shines bright as any day
The shepherds, blindly crawling, and trembling as they cry,
Then from the dazzling light a voice calls in the night and says
Oo, there’s no need to be afraid
Everything is changing, I bring you good news,
Christ the Lord is born in Bethlehem.
The Earth is rearranging, and God is breaking through,
A bright and joyful dawn, the night at last has gone
Now's the day when people say, God is with us.
Here's the night of hope and light on Earth
Here's the change the news so strange and wonderful
Now's the day you see the Saviour's birth.
Then there comes a roaring, the curtain draws aside.
All of Heaven's glory blazes through.
Heaven's angels pouring - a great and shining tide
A multitude and more, all praising God in glory!
