A star rose in the east
It was much brighter than all the rest
A sign, that much was clear
Of greater things to be
Of births of kings, an end to all our fear

It shone in darkened skies
A bright hope shining, there on the rise
and in our books we saw
that such a light would come
and shine so bright
to open Heaven's door.

Left our comfort behind us
Crossed the desert to find
The one our hearts longed to see

A light to set captives free

The stars can lead the wise
